Deborah Danner

Deborah strives to provide culturally sensitive care and welcomes each client as they are in the therapy space. She has over 10 years of experience working in the mental health field and works with adults, children, adolescents, couples, and families. 

​

When not seeing clients, Deborah educates and trains new clinicians on developing their counseling skills. Additionally, she works within the community where she advocates for reducing and treating community violence and increasing awareness and access to mental health services. 

​

In 2023 Deborah was awarded the Alfred Adler Social Justice Award which exemplified her service in advocating against social injustice. The Alfred Adler Social Justice Award is given annually to those who exemplify the philosophies of Alfred Adler.

The annual Social Justice Award highlights the awardees’ tireless efforts to impact the world while inspiring others to do the same.

 

“We are honored to award these exceptional individuals who have gone above and beyond in the name of social justice,” said Elena Quintana, Ph.D., executive director of the Institute on Public Safety and Social Justice.

 

  • “Ms. Danner was honored for her ability to put theory into practice in her (clinical) classroom while sharing countless examples from her experience working in trauma. Ms. Danner brings real-world situations into her (clinical) teaching, including guiding her class through a crisis response after the Highland Park shooting. Ms. Danner also facilitates unusual socially based discussions and is a passionate advocate for civil rights, social action, and strengthening communities”.

  • “In their own unique roles, they have demonstrated a spirit of compassion and courage to take action and make an impact in our world,” Dr. Quintana said.
